Nutrition Consultation and Coaching

I use evidence-based assessments and interventions to help clients optimize their health and well-being. I do not diagnose or treat diseases, however, by optimizing your nutrition, exercise, sleep, and stress levels, your body and mind will give you the best advantage to thrive.

I offer personalized nutrition in support of

  • Mild to moderate mood disorders
  • Optimized cognition and memory
  • Immune resilience and immune tolerance
  • Allergies
  • Digestive health
  • Cardiovascular health
  • Metabolic health
  • Pain and fatigue syndromes
  • Bone and joint health
  • Preconception planning and optimized egg and sperm health

My process involves

  1. Thoroughly understanding your goals and concerns
  2. Assessing your nutritional status, sleep quality, physical activity, and stress level
  3. Developing a personalized and holistic plan to help you reach your goals
  4. Monitoring your progress and reassessing markers, as needed

Assessment data may include one or more of the following

  • A detailed health history
  • Laboratory testing
  • Assessment of potential interactions between current medications and nutrients
  • Food diary and exercise app reports
  • Genetic testing
  • Wearable device biometrics, such as sleep data

The more data we have to work with, the more precise, individualized, and effective your plan will be.

I monitor your progress through regularly scheduled coaching sessions that are intended to provide encouragement, motivation, and education. I help clients gain an understanding about basic nutrition concepts, how to read food labels, and how to prepare delicious meals. It is important for clients to commit to follow-up sessions because these dramatically improve outcomes.

Services and Pricing

Initial Consultation, Evaluation, and Nutrition Plan - $120-$180

Initial consultations are 60 minutes ($120) or 90 minutes ($180), depending upon the complexity of your health concerns and laboratory and/or genetic information to interpret. I also spend time outside of our meeting doing research for you and developing your plan, and these fees include this work.

Your initial consultation includes

  1. A discussion to clarify your specific health goals,
  2. A thorough evaluation of your functional nutritional status, which is informed by your health history, family health history, diet, laboratory assessments, drug/nutrient interactions, and/or nutritional genetic information.
  3. A plan to help you reach your goals. This will include nutritional and lifestyle recommendations.
  4. We will also discuss how many follow-up sessions would be ideal for you, depending upon the complexity of your concerns and goals.

If you would like to work with me,

  1. The first step is to click the Request Consultation button above and complete the brief form.
  2. I will then send you an invitation to create a login account on my secure client portal where you can complete several intake forms.
  3. After you complete the intake forms, I will identify whether additional laboratory assessments would be helpful. You may already have relevant recent labs that your physician ordered that you can send me, or I can facilitate your ordering of necessary labs.
  4. If you have purchased the NutrigenoMap®, this also provides valuable data to fully individualize your plan and help you feel better soon.

After you complete the intake forms, I will recommend whether a 60-minute or 90-minute session is best, and we can get started. I'm looking forward to working with you and helping you to feel your best.

Nutritional Genetic Assessment - $299
  • This 40+ page report of over 450 genetic single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) is your personal roadmap for optimized wellness. It identifies genetic variants that impact appetite and satiety, energy requirements, certain food sensitivities, macronutrient requirements, micronutrient requirements, detoxification function, antioxidant sufficiency, inflammation, circadian propensity, sleep quality, stress, mood, and cognition.
  • The report lists the associated gene, your personal alleles for the variant, and my clinical interpretation of the results. I don’t use algorithms to produce a software-based interpretation because this can blur a meaningful interpretation. For example, some SNPs suggest ideal carbohydrate intake to reduce hyperlipidemia risk. Other SNPs suggest ideal carbohydrate intake to optimize appetite and satiety. Others influence insulin resistance risk. And still others are implicated in waist circumference. I believe it is more informative to consider these effects separately, based on YOUR goals and concerns.
  • This report can be shared with your primary care physician, who may find the data valuable in guiding your care.
  • This product offering includes the report generation, my clinical interpretation, and a 50-minute session to present and explain the results. If you would also like specific recommendations for a particular health.
